I called Craig Sexton to discuss the Notice of Violation he received from Steve Keuter to explain the procedures he needs to follow to get approval for the motorcycle repair work (oil changes, cutting and welding, engine repair, etc.) they have been doing. He said he had been waiting for this call to come and that he knew they were not approved to do that type of work from the time they got their CO but they decided to do it anyway. He said he had talked with the landlord and they decided it would be impractical to upgrade this building to accommodate the repair occupancy and he said he will farm the repair work out to another shop down the street.
I told him he needed to remove the repair/service equipment and related parts and that they should have no hazardous materials, except for the oil which they use for filling new bikes and over the counter sales, plus a small amount of gas to put about 1 pint in each bike. Advised Steve Kueter for FD follow-up.
