(ICE HOUSE SHED, PROPERTY LINE PARTY WALL) To construct a common Party Fire Wall through the center of an existing building that straddles a property line, dividing an existing 136 sq. ft. single building into two 68 sq.ft.buildings, one for each noted address. Owner has added two layers of 5/8", type "X" sheetrock to both sides of of existing double wyth, clay brick wall that extends from concrete floor tight to underside of combustible roof sheathing.To add two layers of 5/8", type "X" sheetrock to bottom side of roof/ceiling joists for full span (width & depth) of ceiling joists to create 1-hour construction at roof/ceiling assembly, an allowable exception alternate to providing 30" parapet above the roof; to seal juncture of 2-hour party fire wall to bottom of roof deck and 1-hour roof /ceiling assembly to perimeter masonry walls with approved fire-stop material. Per red-lined notes on & attached plan review comments, all part of the approved plans requiring verification for compliance. A "Letter of Completion / Compliance is required for this permit project. Talked with Pat McKeegan concerning the need for a 30" parapet extending above the roof on top of the Fire Wall or construction 1-hour roof.ceiling assembly on the joist side of the roof framing & constructing 2-hour wall tight to the underside of the roof sheating per section 705.6, exception 2. I told Pat I would red-line on the plans the 1-hour roof/ceiling assembly on the bottom of the ceiling joists. He said okay. Using assembly from Tbl. 719.1(3), item 21-1.1 for 1-hour system.

Met with Pat McKeegan & Dennis Harmon to discuss issuing a separate permit for a 2-hour party wall at property line as they had discussed with Marlene and she had discussed with me. Existing masonry wall to be modified as necessary to bring into compliance as 2-hour assembly from floor to bottom of roof deck. I-hour roof/ceiling assembly to be installed on bottom of rafter / joists to a minimum of 4 feet out on each siede of two hour wall per exception 705.6(2) in lou of installing parapet above roof.
