(PLAZA 121 - SHELL AND CORE - OLD FIRST SECURITY BUILDING) This building shall be fully fire sprinklered per NFPA 13-2002 as regulated by the Fire Department because it has occupied floors more than 55 feet above the street, to substitute for rated corridors, to allow unprotected openings at the alley, to allow one stair enclosure to pass through a nonrated lobby on the 1st story, etc. To renovate an existing building having 6 stories and a basement (76,680 square feet total). This building is NOT a high-rise. Core restrooms will be constructed in the basement, on the 2nd floor, on the 3rd floor, on the 4th floor, on the 5th floor, and on the 6th floor (12 total). All restrooms are required to be fully accessible to the disabled. Nonstructural demolition work on the 5th and 6th floors was covered under permit BLD04-01570. A 6 story addition, including 2 new elevators, was constructed under permit BLD04-00079. Tenant improvements will be covered under separated permits. Work under this permit is to include interior nonbearing walls, exterior and interior windows, exterior and interior doors, a new stairway to the basement, an extended stairway to the roof, and seismic ties between the West wall and the structural frame all per the approved drawings, engineering, and the plan review report on file. For temporary occupancy for the 6th floor I need a letter stating full functionability of the emergency lighting system, two emergency lights added on the sixth floor, signage in the stairs, a barrier at ground level landing to keep people from continuing to the basement, fire extinguisher for the first floor main lobby and sprinkler protection in the mechanical closet on the first floor.
