This central tower is being constructed between the south (main hospital) tower and the north tower building. The excavation and shoring was done under building permit BLD04-00814. The foundation and structural steel and stair package was done under building permit BLD04-01671. McCarthy Building Companies provided a copy of a 2-hour perimeter fire containment system U.L. CW-S-2003 for use at the cutain wall and edge of 2-hour floor as part of plan review condition #18 of review done by John Menard. The assembly is approved when the entire system is installed and uses all the components of the listed system. The minimum vision panel of the listing is 1/4 heat strengthed glass. John Says they will still use the one inch glass originally approved whicj is two layers of glass with 1/2" air space between, which exceeds the system requirement. Copy of approval with this stipulation was faxed to John Knauf at McCarthy. The curtain wall system is Wausau as listed in spec book. Previous perimeter fire containment submitted and now to be changed was CW-D-2044.
