This business had opened without occupancy approval. CE set up a case and I spoke with the owner. He was unaware that he had to have sign off. Since my request, he has complied with getting sign offs. I did a site inspection today but did not pass. A correction notice was given for the following:
Install gate on trash enclosure
Per Condition of Approval the south side of the property needs to have clusters of bushes to cut down on the vehicle lights as the vehicle drive in/out of the coffee shop.
Replace dead tree located on the west side of the property.
Gave until 8-5-05 to comply or bond for these items.

Called architect, George McClean concerning the energy code envelope compliance certificate for the new building which requires integral insulation in the CMU wall and furr out with 3/4" foam insulation (R-1.5) for compliance. This was not shown on the plans. Architect will fax detail. Also verified that the lighting was existing and not being changed in the existing building as his energy code review had classified the whole building as a "B" occupancy and the majority of it will be parking garage - "S2". He said the lighting was existing and not being increased.
