(MERCHANTS MOVING & STORAGE) To construct 81 lineal feet of CMU wall that is 14 feet in height with three roll up overhead doors and a 3' man door to enclose the north side of an existing 6,490 sq. ft. storage shed building for an existing warehouse tenant per approved engineered plans and CZC05-00007. This building is separated from adjacent buildings on each side (east and west) with existing 2-hour rated fire walls with 90 minute rated doors. Work will also include some new metal siding above wall, some new pipe bollards, and some electrical work. Special Inspection required for structural masonry, structural welding, and for epoxy/adhesive anchor installations. No steel storage racks exceeding 8' in height in this area. This building was originally constructed in Ada County and later annexed into Boise City. An Upgrade Agreement is on file for this tenant. This is a Scope of Work Permit. A Letter of Completion is to be issued when completed and approved. NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinklered. JCB

Upgrade Agreement to Sprinkler Warehouse #1 and the North Loading Dock area within a 2 year time frame. Openings in the existing 2-hour rated fire wall between the office and Warehouse #1 to also be addressed. See attached document to the case.
2/21/07 Sent letter to owner stating the Upgrade Agreement will expire on April 15, 2007. No records or permits on file indicating any of the work or issues have been addressed.
6/15/07 Refer to permit FIR07-00374 for fire sprinkler permit. Still needs Building Permit submittal to be turned in for some issues. Should be coming soon.
6/20/07 Zoning Certificate for new sprinkler riser room addition approved on 6/19/07 under CZC07-00154. Building permit now needs to be turned in for review and approval.
2/13/08 Permits to complete the work have been applied for and reviewed. Applicant has not picked up and paid for the Building Permit. Bob Archibald has met with the tenant and they will be picking up their permit.
5/28/07 Permits to complete the upgrade work are finaled. Refer to permits BLD07-01957, FIR07-00929, and FIR08-00122.

Met with Dave Bliss of Trout Architects concerning some code issues with the code analysis provided for the buildings on the site. Some options and solutions were discussed such as downgrading construction types and expanding the sprinkler system into some building areas. Mr. Bliss said he would take the information to the owner and get back to me. It appears as if an upgrade agreement may be requested for expanding the sprinkler system into non-sprinklered building areas.
