Approved Fire Department vehicle access roads shall be provided to within 150'-0" of all exterior portions of this building. All bridges, gates, public or private streets, individual or common driveways, or dedicated emergency vehicle access lanes, etc., which are considered "fire department vehicle access roads" shall have: a concrete or paved surface capable of supporting 70,000lbs. GVW and 24,000 lbs. per axle, a minimum of 20'-0" width, 48'-0" outside turning radius and 28'-0" inside radius, 13' 6" overhead clearance, and no dead ends over 150 feet unless an approved turnaround is provided. Dead-end roads in excess of 150' shall be provided with an approved area for turning around fire apparatus. Approved turnarounds shall be a cul-de-sac with an outside turning radius of 48', or of a "tee" or "Y" shape with 20' minimum width legs extending at least 65' from the centerline of the main roadway and having the required 28'inside/48'outside turning radii.(ref. IFC 503 and amendments per BMC 7-01-27 through 36).

NOTE: Resubmit a SCALED site plan showing a FD access lane and turnaround meeting the above criteria. Alternatively, provide approved fire sprinklers in accordance with NFPA 13D and including 1 row of sidewall sprinklers along the garage walls separating living spaces.
