Work includes excavation for installation of reinforced concrete piers to support steel column posts; to attach steel columns with anchor plates and epoxied anchor bolts to existing reinforced masonry wall; attach some columns to steel plates bolted to new concrete piers and install accoustical wall panels between steel columns, all per approved plans. Special inspection required per Sheet S1.0 for concrete, reinforcement, welding and epoxy anchors. Talked with John Maulin, Architect of Record, to discuss what was to be done concerning the steel column design data and welding requirement for items no listed on plans presented for review. John said the manufacture of the acoustical wall panel system is required to provide engineered design data & calcs to them for those items not specified on the plans and need to be listed as deferred submittals per section 106.3.4.2 of IBC. I told him I would red-line the plans and attach code requirement conditions to the plans.
