The owners representative wanted me to ok their new layout to meet the sprinkler analasis. They are reinstalling the racks starting in the northwest corner. They are providing 6" transverse and longitudinal flu spaces with 48" isles. This meets the intent of the letter and if carried out will be approved by me.

Telephone call  9/21/2006 DONE
Received call from Garret (Derick?) Cooper with RRC Construction, ###-####. Complained that Troy Cobbley had required a sprinkler analysis and the TVFP analysis indicated 6" flues are required and they only have 4". He was protesting that no one told them before. I referred him to Comment #1 of the Fire Code plan review and also # 5, which indicated plans were incomplete and not approved and gives them the option to resubmit a sprinkler analysis for approval or to wait for a field inspection to evaluate. They obviously chose to wait for the field inspection. I explained: we have no protection options beyond those given in NFPA 13; the owner has the option to decide the storage design they are going to install; they need to then submit a sprinkler analysis for approval for that design as indicated in our review. He indicated they have already loaded about 4 rows of racks. I explained that storage in the racks is not allowed until the sprinkler protection has been approved.

Plan review comments had not been followed as far as providing verification of the existing sprinkler systems design parameters. No real inspection done. Just went over what I will need for the next inspection.
