The fire final inspection for this permit is passed.This permit was for NO TENANT - WAREHOUSE REMODEL,NOT TO BE USED FOR STORAGE, NO OCCUPANCY UNDER THIS PERMIT. A FUTURE PERMIT WILL BE REQUIRED TO OCCUPY TENANT SPACE. after entering the building I found that the building was being occupied by a plastics company, there were pallets of plastic, two boats and a big machine that looked like it was grinding the plastic.I let the tenants know that they need to go down town and start the paper work fo a CO. I also turned this matter over to Steve Keuter, who visited the site within the hour and per his instruction, this permit is being "finaled", as the scope of work is satisfactory. Steve indicated he has "red tagged" the building and the FD will be following up to ensure a permit is obtained. KR

Received telephone calls from Jock Farrah, employee of PVC Spiral Supply inquiring how to get a CO. I explained the fire code issues, guided him to the online TI application form, conferenced him to Dan Stuart who explained the building plan review process. Received a follow-up phone message from him and when I called back I spoke with Jenny, office manager, ( in Jock's absense) and gave her essentially the same information, showing her this online permit which specifies "NO OCCUPANCY UNDER THIS PERMIT. A FUTURE PERMIT WILL BE REQUIRED TO OCCUPY TENANT SPACE" I suggested she could call the leasing agent to inquire why it was leased to them in July 2007 in this condition and with no advice that they needed to get a CO. I also recommended they ask the facility leasing agent for a scaled floor plan to use to show the layout of the new manufacturing (plastic grinding) operations, plastic product storage areas, and other occupancy information, like ailses, height of storage, type of storage, combustible liquid storage like oils (if any), offices, etc) and include that with their application. Suggested she ask the leasing agent for guidance on obtaining information on the sprinkler design or an evalatuation by a sprinkler contractor so they can include that informatin with their application so we can evaluate the adequacy of sprinklers for their specific storage and occupancy.
