(7/24/07) - Had a conference call with CH2MHILL (Wayne Kohler and Chris R.) and MTI (David Cram) concerning modified micro-pile design using a four inch grout layer I.L.O. a sleeve. It was determined that it would be difficult to maintain the 4 inch grout layer and that there would be some loads transferred to the existing garage foundation. It was unclear if this would be acceptable to CCDC. David Cram indicated he would contact John Price (project architect) and notify him that this may not be a viable option and that CCDC would have to agree to the loading on the existing foundation. A meeting may need to be held with CCDC and KPPF Engineers. If they decide to proceed with this design, full calculations and other data will be required to approve the grouted micro-pile design. JCM
