A letter from the applicant's geotechnical engineer indicating that the footing sub-grade is acceptable must be approved by Public Works prior to scheduling a footing inspection. The front entry excavation has exposed native undisturbed sediments and construction can proceed in this area.
The three isolated column footing excavations at the rear of the home and a continuous footing at athe southeast corner of the structure have also exposed firm native sediments. However, loose excavation spoils have sloughed into these excavations following recent rains. After these loose materials have been removed, reexposing the firm native sediments, construction can proceed in these areas.
