The doors will be installed at the access into the west stair enclosure on all floors and at the small closets within the west stair enclosure on all floors per previous Alternate Approval/Upgrade Agreement. These types of doors are to also be installed at the elevator openings on hold-open on all floors at the east end alternate approved stair on a FUTURE separate permit. This is a Scope of Work Permit. A Letter of Completion is to be issued when done. NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinklered for one-hour substitution. JCB

Returned phone call of "Doc" Schleckeway concerning temperature rating for doors into stair enclosure. The upgrade agreement to bring the stair enclosures into code compliance was based on the UBC. Exception to this requirement for temperature transfer rating, 450 dgrees, under the IBC would require compliance of the building sprinkler system with the IBC. This would be quick-response heads for this light hazard occupancy. It is not known if this is the type of system originally installed and would have to be evaluated and upgraded if necessary to use sprinkler exceptions of IBC.
