Telcon from Justin Schwartz, Hummel Arch's regarding the eave soffits which have a clear space between the top and botton chord of 7" (just over 1" greater than the code exception for sprinkler protection o fless than 6"). I suggested he could write Dave Hanneman, requesting special design approval based on several factors of the situation, and see if those factors might be considered sufficient for equivalency of intent and protection of occupants and fire fighters. If this is not approved, an alternative would be to add a nominal 2"x2" to the top or botton chord to reduce the space to less than 6".

I did a quick walk through while waiting for the sprinkler underground flush and found the t-bar is being installed as well as some ceiling tiles/lights. I notified the project superintendant that no ceiling are to be installed or sprinkler piping to be covered since the sprinkler system has not been inspected yet. Jim Sly the structural inspector has also been notified.
