Phone call to Ben Riehl concerning the Hilti anchor assembly specified on plans. The ESR report indicates the anchor is approved for use in masonry but not concrete. We discussed ESR 1917, Hilti KB-TZ which is approved for concrete and does require special inspection. Ben is sending letter indicating change to plans and I will red-line plans and attach copy of his letter.

Received letter from Ben Reihl concerning compliance with 2003 IBC for concrete anchors approved for such use as being ESR 1915, Hilti KB-TZ. The system originally listed, KB-III is listed for use in masonry only per report ESR 1385. I have red-lined plans to reference the Hilti KB-TZ, ESR 1917 as the applicable report and the need for special inspection per the report in accordancewith Sec. 1704 IBC.
