(THE WATER COOLER BUILDING - TENANT IMPROVEMENT) This building is NOT fire sprinklered. To remodel an existing 9,742 square foot building (8,550 square foot inside and 1,192 square foot covered storage) and convert it to office and storage use. Work is to include 2 restrooms accessible to the disabled, interior nonbearing walls, an interior stairway, interior doors, interior windows, millwork, and finishes. The 783 square foot basement is NOT approved for occupancy because it will NOT have a compliant egress system. An existing 1,565 square foot separate building on this site will be demolished. The parking lot work is not covered under this permit. Site work in the public way will be done in conjunction with this permit. A license agreement with ACHD governs the proposed construction in the public way. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes. The interior demolition work was covered under permit BLD07-01723. **CJW**

Provide tags for the three fire extinguishers. Provide remote annunciators as discussed for the duct smoke detectors. The duct smoke detectors are mounted in the 90 degree elbows of the return air ducting. A manometer test will be required or the ducting modified to the 6 to 10 duct widths as per NFPA 72. All other items checked out ok.

Spoke with Jason Martin from Steed Construction. The addition on these plans is the "gravel parking lot" to the northwest of the property. The "gravel parking lot" is not allowed without other approvals. If they can remove the lot from this building permit, I could go ahead and sign off on the plans and work with them on receiving approvals for parking. Jason will be calling the architect and will be getting back to me.

(11-30-07) Talked to the Mechanical Engineer. According to him, he was told by the contractor that the West room would be an assembly occupany. The submitted drawings show it as open office. He said he would consult with the Architect and advise. (12-6-07) Outside air for the West room was reduced to office occupancy quantities. The drawings were approved after the 4th resubmittal review.
