To minimize impairment time, we do not issue sprinkler demo permits until we have received the sprinkler plans and are confident the system modifications will be completed promptly.
This is especially critical in the mall, due to the heavy occupancy load. If your plans appear in order when we receive them, we will be willing to authorize demolition to proceed at that time.
I can imagine the urgency of the situation from the contractor's standpoint, as they are now in the framing stage, according to our permit Activity comments. Apparently, someone got behind on the sprinkler side of things because the building permit was applied for on March 11th.
