Description	(Hillside Junior High - Locker Room Addition & NFPA 13 Fire Suppression / Alarm System) To build a 4,058 sq. ft. locker room addition on the northeast end of the existing 70,641 sq. ft. school building; construction of an 8", 2-hour, masonry fire barrier wall separating the new Type V-B construction from the existing Type VB construction. The new construction will be constructed of non-combustible materials per approved Alternate Request Letter on file, approved by Building Official & Fire Marshall. The entire school (new and existing) will be fully fire sprinklered per NFPA 13 as regulated by the fire department as part of this permit. A Grading & Drainage with site utilities permit is being issued under BLD09-00108. Work includes construction of a reinforced concrete foundation, stem wall, piers, footings and concrete slab; assembly of a pre-manufacture steel building frame with metal skin siding and roofing, construction of reinforced masonry fire barrier wall with protected 90 minute door opening and fire/smoke dampers at duct penetrations at the south end wall and north end steel frame wall, insulation and finishes; fully accessible shower / locker / restrooms for boys and girls; installation of suspended ceiling grid system, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire suppression and alarm systems, all per reviewed plans. This lot is within the floodplain area. An elevation certificate has been submitted and accepted by Jim Wylie, Public Works Dept. drs CUP08-00132

Both of the exit discharge lights need repaired and the emergency light in the north exit corridor from the new locker room needs repaired. I notified the general contractor that when the forward flush on the sprinkler system was performed all of the dirt and debri would be washed down to Hill Road and cause problems with Erosion Control.

Notified by architect that the modified Alternate Request Letter of 2/23/09 was not the alternate signed by the B.O & F. M. I reviwed the signed document and he was correct. I reviewed the alternate request letter of 2/23/09 and found that the code analysis for the original building and then the code analysis with the new addition to the existing with the new sprinkler system were not corrected per my e-mail to architect of 2/22/09. I added suggested corrections to the code analysis data to sheet 1 & 2 of alternate request letter and code equations used and e-mailed to architect to correct on letter and then resubmit pages 1 & 2 and I will take to building official and fire marshall for there signature so that all data in the letter is correct and in agreement with proposals for acceptance by Boise City.

Notified by e-mail that the project had gone out to bid and once awarded the winning contractor would work on providing building four sets of plans and three sets of design / engineering calcs all stamped by and Idaho licensed structural engineer for review. Once received, the plans will be imediately routed to Boise City PDS contract structural review engineering company for review and comment. It was estimated by architect that this could be in two to three weeks. I will continue the review process on plan resubmittals of 2/23/09.
