Priest Retirement Home - To construct a new 16,377 square feet, one story, eight unit, apartment building with common areas and attached garages for retiring Catholic Priests. Each unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a 55 square feet patio. Each unit has a separate means of egress and also share a common path of egress into and through a 1/2-hour exit corridor with 20 minute fire-resistive, listed, labeled, self-closing door assemblies from the dwelling units into the corridor. All eight units are required to comply as Type 'B' accessible dwelling units. All construction shall be per the approved plans, engineering, and attached plan review report. NOTE: This building is required to be fully fire sprinklered per NFPA 13. CUP07-00171 **SRZ**

Per the approved drawings and documents the address is 4450. The address of 4420 has been installed on the building. I spoke to April with the addressing dept. and she believes that neither address is correct. I let the contractor know that he needs to speak to April to get the correct address. Also the exit discharge light out of the southeast exit did not work nor did the emergency light just inside of this same door. All other items appear ok.

The architect called and inquired if it was ok to modify 20 min. rated door at the chapel. I let him know because the corridors and corridor doors are not required to be rated per the 206 IBC, section 1017.1, that it would be fine to not provide the 20 min. rated door or modify the proposed door. I then called the building inspector and let him know. I requested the architect to call the contractor and let him know also. SRZ

Went through plans with Brandon....Talked about ADA, Rated walls, firestopping, Shear inspections etc.......Looked at shear walls in crawl (pony walls).....located below entrances to hallways.....OK except for overshot nails, and a panel with missed nailing. Wants to cut a hole or two through pony shear walls.....contact Architect or Eng. for advise.
