(SARMC)(5TH FLOOR PEDIATRICS) Installation of delayed egress security door hardware for use during normal pediatric operation times and lock down hardware for after normal hours or in times of emergency for safety of patients. When in lock down mode the following fail safe conditions exist: all locking devices will release upon: (a) loss of power to device, (b) activation of fire alarm system, (c) fire sprinkler system activation, (d) by remote lock release at a constantly attended nursing station and (e) doors shall have the capability of being unlocked by a signal from the fire command station. If activation of one of the fail safe systems disconnects the electrical security controls of the doors, the electronic retracted door latch will release, securing the fire doors in the closed and latched condition as fire doors to maintain the integrity of the 2-hour horizontal exit / smoke barrier and the 2 hour stair enclosure. Engaging the fire door panic hardware as delayed egress hardware, will activate an alarm and release after a maximum of 15 seconds for delayed egress exiting & security purposes. The three security door locations are monitored by camera; emergency lighting is located at each door; and doors are posted with sign on door within 12" of fire door panic bar stating "PUSH UNTIL ALARM SOUNDS. DOOR CAN BE OPENED IN 15 SECONDS". drs
