There will also be a 1000s.f. 3-car garage attached to this sunroom on the other side of the sunroom from the main dwelling. ESC plan waiver is approved with attached conditions. A letter from the applicant's geotechnical engineer indicating that the footing sub-grade is acceptable must be approved by Public Works prior to scheduling a footing inspection. Strata has observed the 6 drilled shaft foundation excavations along the North blg line for the proposed shop building at 1621 Promontory point on Tues Feb 9th. The shaft foundations have been excavated into competent bearing soil that meets the structural engineer’s requirements. Strata approved the drilled shaft foundation subgrade provided that loose soil greater than 1 inch in depth at the bottom of the shafts be removed prior to placing concrete. Since the 7 ft deep shafts are uncased, Strata also recommends the concrete be placed in the center of the shaft (via a backchute or a pump hose) to avoid sidewall soil sloughing during concrete placement.
