Barbacoa Restaurant Rebuild and Addition - To rebuild an 8,170 square foot, one story, wood framed restaurant building that was destroyed by fire. The building is being reconstructed from the existing foundation up. There will also be a new 310 square foot main entry area addition on the west side of the building and a new 795 square foot addition along the south side of the building. The roof height will be increased approximately 8 feet above the original building roof height. The original approved plans are being modified to include a 400 square foot, mezzanine above the public restroom area and a 500 square foot dining area on the north east corner of the roof. The mezzanine is limited to 20 seats and the roof top dining is limited to 29 seats. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. JCM

The Fire Code Official, Mark Senteno, has authorized a Temporary Certificate Occupancy for a time period not to exceed 90 days, under the following conditions:

1) All required means of egress shall be complete in occupied areas and all required Fire extinguishers shall be installed in accordance with approved plans.

2) Prior to commencing training of authorized restaurant personnel, the required building Fire Sprinkler System and Commercial Cooking Hood suppression systems shall be fully operational and electronically monitored by the building Fire Alarm System.

3) Prior to allowing any members of the general public into the restaurant for patronage, the required building Fire Alarm system, including Audio and Visual notification in public and common use spaces, shall be complete and fully operational in all areas accessible to the public and restaurant staff.
