I left a message with Randy to discuss the email Bill Matter sent me. Matter architecture is not willing to be invlolved in the modification permits. I wanted to discuss the Code issues with Randy specifically Energy compliance and structural capabilities of the roof to carry a roof live load of 25 psf. Waiting for a returned telephone call.

Meeting with Randy the owner of Big Bun and Andrea Tuning w/ Planning and Zoning. Explained the process to obtain a Major Tenant Improvement Permit for the addition he completed without permits. Andrea also explained the Zoning process. I suggested he hire an architect. He stated he was going to get with an architect and start his zonning approval proccess.

Recieved telephone call from Jerry McAdams the Fire Inspector. He stated the deck/patio area is covered with a canopy and has gas heat plummed to it. He did not think it was a temporary structure and thought it was regulated by the building department. I let him know that the structure was not approved for a roof and that a Building inspector would investigate. SRZ

Recieived a telephone call from the owner Randy. I let him know he needs to obtain a building permit for the alterations/addition to his patio area. I offered to meet with him to go over the permitting process. I let him know drawings showing the new work are needed in order to obtain his permit. I also requested information about the mechanical and electrical alterations. He stated he would get started on producing the applications and construction documents for approvals. I offered my direct line for future assistance. SRZ

On April 9, 2010, the City of Boise reviewed and approved a Design Review application (DRH10-00058). As Conditions of Approval, the applicant was required to complete the following items and submit revised plans indicating compliance with these conditions. At this time, revised plans have not been received by the Design Review staff and the only conditions that have been addressed on the building plans are Site Specific Conditions 1C, 1E and 1H. It appears as though the applicant attempted to address Site Specific Condition 1I, however, the dimensions do not meet the Federal Standards for a van accessible space.

The applicant was notified to incorporate all of the Conditions of Approval into the site and landscape plans and submit them to the Design Review Staff for review and approval. Once this review is complete, they may then submit the revised drawings to be inserted into the building plans to be reviewed for building compliance.
