Work is to include interior nonbearing walls (masonry and steel stud), a steel header over a new 14 foot long opening in an existing masonry bearing wall, a 14 foot long roll-up door at the food service tray slide, a Type II dishwasher hood, a Type II kitchen hood over food preparation equipment, a 1,500 gallon grease trap, a new concrete floor slab and patches in the existing slab, a walk-in cooler, a walk-in freezer, suspended ceiling, and interior finishes. Interior nonstructural demolition is also covered under this permit. 1. Explain on plans how you are going to provide 1085 cfm of additional make-up air needed.
2. Note on plans steel grease duct on roof shall be painted.
3. Detail A sheet A3.0 does not show we will have 18" clearance to combustible ceiling. Please verify if this is a problem that needs to be addressed now.
4. Same detail shows incorrect method of installing grease ducts. Revise detail or provide note refer to roof plan for proper grease duct installation.
5. The type of exhaust fan shown on schedule for type 1 hood appears to be an upflow type. Detail A sheet A3.0 shows and adjacent roof slope within 10 feet of exhaust fan. IMC 506.3.12.3 states the exhaust outlets shall be located 10 feet away from adjacent building.
6. Note on plans air balance report is required and on site for final mechanical inspection.
7. There is no mention on plans Grease duct clearances and protection to combustible construction. Am I to assume we have 18" clearance to combustibles.
