Roosevelt Elementary School - (Addition and Remodel) - To insulate the crawl space and basement walls with 6" batt insulation and new 6 mil. vapor retarder at the crawl space floors. To construct a new elevator equipment room in the basement boiler room and a new tele/com room within the maintenance room, as well as, relocate the existing kiln to the east side of the boiler room. To demo and remodel the first floor to redo the accessible restrooms, eliminate the existing kitchen area, relocate the faculty lounge, offices and nurse area to the north side of the corridor and to remove and replace all interior and exterior stairways and ramps, including all railings. To demo and remove the stage area from the south side of the gymnasium. To demo and remodel the second floor to redo the accessible restrooms, add two resource rooms, replace interior stairs with new accessible ramp along corridor #222. To remove and replace existing exterior egress stairway from the library. This permit is also to install new roofing and all new exterior windows and doors, as well as, all new interior finishes throughout. To construct a new 2,140 square foot, two story, wood framed addition, with a 285 square foot elevated loading dock on the northeast corner of the existing building. The addition will have 1,095 square foot warming and serving kitchen on the first floor and a new 1,045 square foot classroom #207 on the second floor. The addition will also include a new elevator in a masonry shaft. This permit also includes related electrical, plumbing and mechanical work, as well as, related site improvements. Need final sign off for the fire alarm permit. Also I found a manual pull station at the north exit fo the gym that is mounted too high. There are two emergency lights that need the batteries hooked up and one combo exit sign/emergency light that is located over the main exit that did not function. The exit sign from the gym back into the school is missing as well.
