This building is fully sprinklered. Any alterations to the sprinkler or alarm system require separate application, plans and permits before work can commence and shall be in accordance with applicable NFPA Standards as regulated by the fire department. The smoke evacuation system shall remain operational as originally designed and installed under the 1985 UBC. Called Katie Butler, CSHQA, local structural design firm hired to address structural plan review questions for Bare Escentuals T.I., to discuss missing response to plan review item #1a for structural calcs and details for steel columns, base plates, connections, support for rolling security grill and lateral support for top of columns while maintining the deflection required for the structural load of roof / floors at mall. Katie did not have copy of original plan review and ask that I send her a copy and she would discuss with Dana Hennis, Structural Engineer. I e-mailed her a copy of report with options of delaying issuing of permit while plans & engineering were prepared, submitted and reviewed for approval or if it would work providing a written request to handle the design data as a deferred submittal per section 106.3.4.2, 2006 IBC, then plans would be taken to permit desk to process for issuing building permit.

Received e-mail from Jesslyn, architect stating plan resubmittals will be turned in Oct 1st or 4th and asking how long to have resubmittals reviewed. Contractor scheduled to start work on the 11th of Oct. I e-mailed her that we had three working days in which to review resubmittals and if resubmittals were complete the permit should be ready to pick up before the 11th. She ask about a demo permit and I told her a demo plan and C.V. was needed and we could issue a demo permit for non-structural work.
