Discussed this project in detail with the Architect Cathy Sewell. We have recognized a type of construction issue and that this Tenant Improvment change of occupancy permit is connected to an existing building that is over area and height due to type of construction. Because this is a change of occupancy the applicant is required to address the issues identified. We spoke about possible solutions and I requested her to provide a letter identifying the non-compliant issue and the proposed solutions. I let her know I could then discuss the proposed solution with the Building Official and possibly approve an alternate for her project. I'm currently waiting for her response.
