Touched base with the engineer about this project. He stated all members shall be removed and replaced like for like. If any members are in question or different than original construction prior to fire a structural evaluation shall be obtained. I called the applicant and shared this information. I also called the inspector to let him know this was a repair permit and that structural components are required to be like for like.
