In attendance at today’s onsite meeting were PDS/Structural Supervisor - Robert Archibald, PDS/Fire Manager - Scott Arellano, General Contractor - Scott Asin, and Penguillys Saloon Owner. The objective of the meeting was to establish temporary conditions for the allowed use of the new restroom facilities for use by Penguilly patrons while the existing restroom facilities are permanently removed as part of phase 2 of the construction project. The following conditions are required until completion of all related permits:
1. Patrons are only permitted to access the adjacent building area for the sole purpose of utilizing the new restroom facilities. No other collateral use is permitted until all related project permits have been finaled.
2. A clearly defined, contiguous barrier shall be constructed adjacent to the existing interior wall which guides Penguilly patrons from the existing bar area directly to the restroom facilities.
3. This defined pathway shall maintain a minimum 36 inches in clear width and include access to two (2) exits at opposite ends of the space for egress.
4. The approved maximum occupant load of 64 (MIS07-00043) shall not be exceeded until such time all related permits have been finaled.

5/26/11 - Plans approved by Planning for front landing, step & handrails with thre new cement planters as indicated on new sheets. Sheets A1.0 & A2.0 sgow the new planters and the plans are red-lined reducing the stair tread and the handrail extension to 11" instead of 13" as shown per the approved alternate request letter. The letter also covered the approval of a 36" deep landing instead of the 44" landing by the building official and per letter from planning concerning maintaining the historical element of this building.

Called Harold cox, Structural Engineer evaluating the building materials and all loads to determine beam size and support. Engineering calcs indicate two different beam to post connections between the new post carrying the new PSL 5-1/4" x 22" beam at the existing 8" x 12" beam in basement.Harold cox researched his design data and called back saying the Simpson PC86 was the correct connector.
