GATES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE EGRESS PATH FROM THE PATIO UNLESS THE GATE SWINGS IN THE DIRECTION OF EGRESS TRAVEL, DOES NOT SWING OVER THE PUBLIC SIDEWALK, AND HAS PANIC HARDWARE OR NO LATCHING OR LOCKING HARDWARE. A PADLOCK IS NEVER ALLOWED. THE EGRESS PATH THROUGH THE PATIO, AT LEAST 44 INCHES WIDE, MUST BE MAINTAINED CLEAR AND UNOBSTRUCTED.) (4-24-12 PLAN MODIFICATION TO REMOVE THE EXISTING EXTERIOR BAR, THE EXTERIOR LOW HEIGHT MASONRY WALL, AND THE ENTIRE EXTERIOR PATIO SLAB. SINCE THE GAS FIRE PITS ARE DECORATIVE APPLIANCES AND ARE NOT PRIMARILY INTENDED TO PROVIDE OUTSIDE HEATING FOR OCCUPANT COMFORT, THEY ARE BEYOND THE SCOPE OF THE ENERGY CODE. WHETHER GLASS OR PLASTIC, THE TRANSLUCENT PANELS MUST COMPLY AS SAFETY GLAZING.) This building is fire sprinklered for area, story, and height increase and for fire area. To remove an existing exterior wall and replace it with a new operable window wall system. The Certificate of Occupancy for the existing tenant will not change. A new concrete landing will be provided for the full length of the window wall system. The operable window wall system with have folding panels with two integral exit doors each having panic hardware. Floor and head tracks will be provided. Structural work includes a steel beam and column moment frame to support gravity and lateral loads. The design of the column footings is a deferred submittal item. Special Inspection is required for epoxy anchors and for welding. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to be maintained in compliance with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW** (DRH11-00060)
