Met with Troy Cobbley, fire code field inspector. He had ask for plans sheet corrections during his inspection of 8/25/11 and issued a correction notice. I have not received any re-submittals for this project. Dylan (Dillon) Schneider, contractor had called on 8/31/11 to inquire about reducing the assigned occupant load for the daycare. I had referred him and his architect to Section 1004.1 for process to follow for written request to the Building Official. This has not been provided to date. The assigned occupant load is 56 and the proposal is to be 49 which would modify several current code requirements.
The original occupant load was established when constructed in Ada County and per past Daycare License by City Clerk. This is a new owner and a T.I. to relocate kitchen.

Provide a manual fire alarm system. Provide tagged and mounted fire extinguisher as discussed. Applicant needs to meet with the plan reviewer to discuss which two exits will be the required exits. This will drive number of exit signs and their locations as well as the panic hardware requirement and landing requirements. Emergency lighting needs to be provided through out. Smoke alarms need to be tested. Address numbers have been painted. Receptical covers need to be provided. See the city approved plans/review notes for items marked in red that need to be addressed.

I reviewed applicability of requirements of Chapter 47, adopted as part of the 2009 IFC Adoption Ordinance, .AMENDMENTS ADDING A CHAPTER 47 TO THE IFC Section 7-01-64 AMENDMENT ADDING A CHAPTER 47, CHILD CARE FACILITIES EXISTING PRIOR TO JANUARY 1, 2003, in conversation with Scott Arellano, Fire Code / Plan Reviewer & Supervisor. Compliance is required by ordinance for daycares existing before Jan. 1, 2003, as regulated by the Fire Department.
