On site visit with fire sprinkler contractor regarding demo work, project schedule, existing deficiencies, etc.

Meeting was to discuss impairment of the fire protection system during construction.
- It was agreed that the demo areas would be as small as possible and put back in service as quickly as possible. One demo area is to be put back in service prior to another area taken out of service if at all possible.
- Trent with Phoenix fire protection is supposed to prepare a procedure and submit it to Romeo.
- Questions were brought up in regards to the alarm system. All questions were deferred to Stephanie.
- Trent was asked to provide a plan of each area that will be demo. The plan will help avoid shutting down a portion of the system that is in unaffected area of the building.
- Tim with COB said multiple/partial submittals of the sprinkler system were fine.
- Bruce with CM Company was asked not to leave ceiling tile open unless it is unavoidable.
- Bruce was also told the piling of combustible content was not permitted. This is applies to new construction material or demo construction material.
- Romeo Fire Marshal with COB indicated if larger areas of the sprinkler system were to be demo and not brought back into service later the same day that a fire watch may be required. This will be evaluated on an issue-by-issue basis.
- Romeo indicated that it was permissible to remove annunciators in the demo area provided that the wires were reconnected so that the remainder of the system was still functioning.
- Romeo indicated small pocket areas created by temporary construction wall were permitted not to have sprinkler coverage. However, larger pocket areas would require temporary sprinklers coverage be installed.
- Trent indicated that there are areas without sprinkler coverage that should have sprinkler coverage. Rob with COB indicated that these areas would be addressed during this project. Trent, Tim and Forest are to walk these areas.
- Bruce was told not to leave multiple vertical floor openings that could possible create a chimney effect.
- It was agreed that a portion of the sprinkler system along the wall was to be demo in order to facilitate construction. This area would not require a fire watch.
