(Business Mall North Canopy - Library Plaza) To extend existing roof canopy currently on the east face of building to continue around corner of building and along the north face for approximately 89 feet, adding approximately 1,413 sq. ft. to the existing 2-story 61,134 sq. ft. building. The canopy will extend out from the existing CMU wall 13.5 feet to center line of new support columns and beams. Concrete footing and piers were constructed under BLD09-00729. Work will include welding (6) 4" x 4"x 3/16" tube steel columns to the existing 10" x 10" x 3/4" steel base plate; welding a steel saddle post cap to the columns and placing 5-1/8" x 18" GLB across the top of the columns to support the pre-engineered mono-trusses. Install a 4' x 12", #2 DFL ledger along the CMU wall at the existing bond beam and connect to wall with 3/4" threaded rod epoxied into the bond beam a minimum of 5", spaced per plans. To provide additional support and connections at canopy hips, GLB to CMU connection, connections from truss to beam and ledger and anchors to steel columns to hold wood framing and finishes; install brick pier around bottom of columns with a concrete cap to match existing columns; install 1/2" plywood sheathing, felt underlayment, battens and Monier "Lifetile" concrete tile per manufacture's instruction's and Section 1507.3 & Table 1507.3.7, 2009 IBC. Special inspection required for epoxy anchors, welding and masonry as indicated on Sheet G1 and attached Project Start Up For Special Inspection form, all per reviewed plans, attached plan review comments / conditions and red-lined notes of all reviewing agencies as part of approved plans.
