(AUTOZONE - RACKING) To construct and install steel storage racking system exceeding 8' in height with high-piled storage per approved plans and attached structural engineering. SPECIAL INSPECTIONS ARE REQUIRED. Work to include: To install 6,770 square feet total area of racking/shelving (including aisles). Each unit will be bolted to the floor and have more than 36" isles between rows. The design, testing and utilization of industrial steel storage racks shall be in accordance with the RMI/ANSI MH 16.1. A Letter of Completion is to be issued when done. The existing envelope is not being affected by this permit. EACH RACKING SYSTEM SHALL HAVE A PLAQUE LOCATED AT EACH RACKING SYSTEM STATING THE MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE STORED ON THAT PERTICULAR RACKING SYSTEM PER THE ENGINEERS CRITERIA STATED ON THE PLANS FOR EACH RACKING SYSTEM. The original building was constructed under BLD12-00580. NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinklered. Any alterations or modifications to the sprinkler system shall be per NFPA 13 as regulated by the fire department. **SRZ**

Spoke with the applicant Amy. Let her know about the Fire Code Plan Reviewers concerns about the sprinkler design not working with the current rack locations. emailed her a courtesy explanation and the Fire Code plan review report. I then issued the racking permit to the front counter.

Please see the attached Fire Code Plan Review report. Both the Building Department and Fire Code Plan reviewer have approved your submitted design. According to the Fire plan reviewer the sprinkler design will not be approved due to the absence of the required flue spaces per item number 7 in the Fire Code Review Report and the proposed rack/shelving materials. The reviewer stated he has spoken with your designer and they are aware of this issue. This is a courtesy email for your information.
