The revised Fire Access plan on sheet C1.1 appears to be sufficient to meet the Fire Code requirements. This driveway modification will be sufficient to remove the previous fire sprinkler requirement. I have updated the permit case language to reflect this change. Please Note that these revised plan sheets will need to be approved by the residential plan reviewer and re-issued for the final approved set.

Per our discussion, the proposed single family dwelling located at 289 North Alto Via Court does not currently meet the requirements of the Fire Code in regards to Fire Department vehicle access. As measured from the public roadway (North Alto Via Court) the distance around the structure to the furthest exterior portion of the home is 200 lineal feet. To be in compliance with the Fire Code, the furthest exterior portion of the structure must be within 150 feet of an approved fire department roadway, unless an approved alternative is accepted by the Fire Code official.

Acceptable alternatives are:

1) Installation of fire sprinklers in accordance with NFPA 13D; or
2) Provide additional fire department vehicle access roadways capable of supporting the weight of fire department apparatus weighing 75,000 lbs per axle, with a grade not exceeding 10%, and roadway width acceptable to the Fire Code Official.

Please submit your alternate approval request in writing and/or proposed plan to the Boise City Fire Marshal, Deputy Chief Romeo Gervais at rgervais@cityofboise.org; or deliver to Boise Fire Department at 333 N. Mark Stall Place, Boise, ID.

The applicant did not have the check off list filled out,as we were starting I noticed he didn't have the structural calcs, at that time the applicant said he would just take the plans, get the check off list filled out and bring it back for submittal another time. I did have Jason Taylor look at the plans and he said it would just be a normal hill side submittal. PLEASE note I did not get very far with the plan intake.
