Lisa, we have 2 issues that you need to address.

1st- BLD14-00374
Your building permit BLD14-00374 has expired. Please submit a written (email) request to Jason Blais, Building Official requesting an extension for your current permit. This should be done right away.

2nd-Upgrade Agreement
Attached is the upgrade agreement. Yes, your first two years under the agreement have passed.
If you want another year extension, we will need a bond posted with our Permit Counter.
This will require you to obtain at least 2 bids for the construction cost. There is a $300 charge for the processing fee for posting the bond. The bond amount is set at 110% of the highest of the bids.
Carlos Valazquez is one of our permit technicians that can assist you in getting the bond processed. His number is ###-####

We do not have a site or template for the extension letters as every project is unique.

If you have other methods of construction you want to pursue, I would recommend you meet with a plans examiner to discuss. Start with contacting Adele Schaffeld-Griffin, the Assistant Building Official/Plan Review Manager.

I thought the issue was more about an exterior stairway proximity to property line than the openings?
