(ST. LUKE’S – SHOWER ROOM – 7TH STORY) The fire sprinkler system is used for high-rise and for occupancy. To remodel a tub/shower room located on the 7th story of a high-rise hospital. The tub and sink within the room will be removed. To create a 90 square foot shower room accessible to the disabled where the former tub/shower room was located. An alcove in the adjacent corridor will be created that will reduce the size of the shower room from 99 square feet to 90 square feet. Work is to include creating an alcove in the existing 1-hr corridor enclosure to accommodate a tray cabinet; extending the 1-hr corridor enclosure walls at the sides, back, and top of the alcove; installing a smoke damper in the 1-hr corridor wall; installing a tray cabinet constructed of MDF with melamine finishes in the alcove; and installing wall tile, floor tile, grab bars, curtain track, curtain, shelves, etc. in the shower room. Some work including plumbing will be done on the 6th story below the remodel area. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The existing 1-hr corridor enclosure is required to be maintained in compliance with the 1991 UBC. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. This is a scope of work permit and does not affect the existing Certificate of Occupancy. **CJW**
