(DMV – DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES – LICENSE BUREAU) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase and for story increase. To remodel an existing 5,100 square foot tenant space located on the 1st story for a new office and assembly tenant. This project is a change of occupancy classification. New and existing toilet rooms are required to be accessible to the disabled as defined by the 2012 IBC. The showers are required to be maintained accessible to the disabled as defined by the 2000 IBC. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, a Men’s toilet room accessible to the disabled having a toilet and a urinal, a service counter accessible to the disabled, millwork, and finishes. The concrete floor slab will be saw-cut to allow trenches for under slab plumbing. The concrete slab on grade will be patched after the plumbing is completed and the trenches are backfilled. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
