(BOISE BUDDHIST COMMUNITY CENTER – EAST END OF BUILDING) (DRH17-00487) (CUP17-00069) (CVA17-00063) This building does not have a fire sprinkler system. To expand a former residential apartment by about 146 square feet into and adjacent residential apartment and to convert the expanded tenant space to a meditation center. After the expansion, the meditation center will have a total floor area of about 653 square feet and the adjacent residential apartment will be reduced in size from about 504 square feet to about 358 square feet. The apartment is not required to comply as a Type A or as a Type B dwelling unit since there are less than 4 dwelling units in this building. Work is to include an exterior wood ramp accessible to the disabled, a 2-hr fire barrier wall to function as a dwelling unit separation to entirely separate the meditation center tenant space and the area below it from the rest of the building, a toilet room accessible to the disabled, interior nonbearing walls, and finishes. Structural work includes a concrete footing in the existing crawlspace, new beams sistered to the side of existing floor beams, wood columns, and a new roof beam with new columns. Special Inspection is required for anchors post-installed in hardened concrete. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. A separate permit (i.e. Occupancy Approval Review) is required to establish occupancy for the remodeled dwelling unit. **CJW**
