(3-21-19) The plan modification to remove 1-hr rated interior windows W2, W3, and W4 that are located between an enclosed 1-hr rated corridor and an office was not approved. Offices are not allowed to be within the enclosure of a 1-hr corridor. The glass was required to have a 1-hr fire-resistance-rating because the area of the glass exceeds 25% of the area of the common wall between the office and the corridor. A plan modification that would replace the glass with a 1-hr wall with the area of glass in each wall having a 45 minute fire-protection-rating and limited to 25% of each common wall between the corridor and the office would be considered.
