A letter from the applicant’s geotechnical engineer indicating that the footing/column subgrade is acceptable must be approved by Public Works prior to scheduling a footing inspection. Please e-mail the stamped inspection approval letter to mjannusch@cityofboise.org and allow 24 hours for subgrade approval processing. Call Melissa Jannusch at ###-#### with questions.

Prior to obtaining a final for the permit, the roof storm drainage system must be inspected by Public Works. Call Melissa Jannusch at ###-####.

The final inspection of the site grading and drainage work shall be done by the design engineer. Written approval shall be submitted to Boise Public Works prior to the issuance of the building final.

An erosion and sediment control site preparation inspection is required for this site. The site preparation inspection takes place after all required erosion and sediment control best management practices have been installed and BEFORE any earthwork takes place. Call ###-#### to schedule an inspection.



All disturbed slopes included in the construction of this project must be stabilized and approved by Public Works before a Final Occupancy Permit is granted. If weather conditions prohibit revegetation and stabilization activities, the contractor shall provide a bond/surety agreement or an irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of 110% of the cost estimated by the project engineer to enable stabilization of the site. Geotechnical report
1. Upload original geotechnical engineering report

2. Provide a conclusion from the geotechnical engineer on the suitability of the site to be constructed as proposed based on the most recent grading and drainage plan.

3. The geotechnical engineer will need to comment on the location of the seepage bed and provide any recommendations to protect the downslope home.

4. Perform infiltration testing to obtain a design infiltration rate for seepage beds


Hillside report
5. Update points under soils evaluation 2. Construction recommendations f) and note under Grading and Drainage design note 5. to match the plan and 6. Proposed Drainage Construction a)

6. Move foundation drain below footing

7. A modified proctor ASTM 1557 is recommended by the geotechnical engineer. Please update in hillside report.

Structural Engineering

8. Letter from the structural engineer on the condition of the existing rock walls and their ability to bear the new proposed structures and any recommendations to prevent sliding, overturning, or failure.

9. Seepage bed structures must be 10' from structure foundations a structural engineering may approve seepage bed setbacks from structures that are less than 10'. Please provide a statement from the structural engineer on allowing the reduced setback to the foundations or move the seepage beds.


Grading and drainage plan

10. Is the existing north retaining wall to remain? Please note on the grading and drainage plan and provide wall heights and bottom of wall elevations

11. Provide a cross section of the existing rock walls and the new walls

12. Label roof drains and show downspout locations

13. Show trench drain on grading and drainage plan

14. Label perforated pipe in seepage beds

15. Show monitoring well locations

16. Provide IDWR shallow injection well form for seepage beds

17. Provide sizing calculations and drainage time calculations for seepage beds

18. Perform infiltration testing to obtain a design infiltration rate for seepage beds
