(KNITTING FACTORY – FIRE REMODEL AND REPAIR) (DRH18-00576) The fire sprinkler system is used for story increase and for building area increase. To remodel a 7,575 square foot portion of an existing events center (5,681 square foot lower level and 1,894 square foot mezzanine) which includes repairing damage from a fire. The allowed occupant loads were determined under permit BLD18-02551 based on approved occupancy scenarios. Work is to include two new exterior windows with each window frame having new exterior grilles and relief air dampers that will be interlocked with the existing roof top make-up-air unit, a new mechanical chase wall on the mezzanine, re-used existing light fixtures, new light fixtures, re-used roof top HVAC units, new heat pumps, and finishes. A trench will be saw cut through the existing concrete floor to allow for the installation of a new plumbing drain line. Afterwards, a new concrete floor slab will be installed over the back filled trench. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. This permit does not establish a new Certificate of Occupancy. Existing Certificates of Occupancy are still valid. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
