(HYDE PARK APARTMENT – 2ND STORY) The fire sprinkler system is used for occupancy and for story increase. This permit replaces permit BLD08-00678 which was expired because the work was suspended. To finish a dwelling unit on the 2,175 square foot 2nd story of an existing building and to prepare the dwelling unit for occupancy (1,482 square feet interior and 693 square feet exterior deck). Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, exterior doors, a 1-hr floor-ceiling assembly within the former elevator shaft, interior wall infills, a new opening in an interior wall, millwork, and finishes. The structural capacity of existing shear walls is required to be maintained. The building shell was constructed under permit BLD05-00128 and permit BLD14-03039. The elevator shaft, the glass in the exterior deck floor, the stairways, the handrails, the guards, the exterior windows, the building envelope, a furnace, etc. were all done or installed under the shell permit. The 2003 IBC was in effect at the time. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
