ALPHONSUS REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER – EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT BREAK/LOCKER ROOM AND MEETING ROOM – 1ST STORY – WEST OF THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT) The fire sprinkler system is used for occupancy and for high-rise. To remodel a 1,588 square foot area located on the 1st story just West of the Emergency Department to be used as a meeting room and a locker/break room. Evidently, the floor of the remodel area is a concrete slab on grade. Sections of the concrete floor will be removed to facilitate new underslab plumbing and underslab electrical conduit. Work is to include patches of the concrete floor slab, interior nonbearing walls, a toilet/shower room accessible to the disabled, lockers with at least 5% accessible to the disabled, benches with at least one accessible to the disabled with back support, millwork, and finishes. Doors in the existing 2-hr exit passageway are required to have a fire-protection-rating of at least 90 minutes and to be self-closing and latching. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**

The tenant improvement plans shall be reviewed by a licensed fire sprinkler contractor, to determine what, if any, modifications are necessary to maintain code compliance within the project area. The building plan set includes engineered fire alarm drawings, stamped by Thomas Scofield. These plan sheets have not been plan reviewed and are NOT approved for design or installation. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department.
