Meeting with Mr. Hummel and Mr. Tewksbury on plan review items needing addressed: (1) Mechanical make up air for the kitchen hood to be designed, approved and installed before final of project by Mech. & Plan Check. Agreed to by all present. This will resolve the Mech. Div. outstanding plan review item. (2) The ceiling in the new storage area will be removed, leaving the duct work exposed to view and negating the requirement for a 1-hour shaft around the duct per Sec. 2001 UMC. The duct coming off of the existing hood will be checked by the architect and mechanical engineer and if it is concealed in an attic area it will be enclosed in a one hour shaft for the length from the hood to the wall penatration. (3)The structural engineer is working on answers to structural review questions. (4) Architect, Charles Hummel, will present all corrections with an appropriate details or written course of action to be taken for all plan review items.

Mr. Hummel called to review the possability of getting a separate demo permit for this project to allow interior demolition at the South end of the basement while the design professionals working on this project prepare plans and responses to plan check plan review sheets of July 12, 1995. Mr. Hummel wil provide a letter for our file stating that demolision of the exterior stairs will not occur until after the July 29 Jaialdi Mass which will leave all exiting exits available for this main event. It was agreed to issue a separate demo permit based on the above conditions, receipt of the letter and a Certificate of Value for the demolition from CM Co.

Received call from Charles Hummel concerning status of plans for issuance of permit. I told Mr. Hummel that I had faxed him a copy of my plan review comments, for his response, which I would need before the permit could be issued. I also mailed a copy of the plan review comments with a cover letter to Mr. Hummel. I also informed him that the Mech. Div. had an outstanding review item on make-up air that needed resolved. A letter received from Mr. Hummel on July 6, 1995 alterted conditions for the number of occupants that would be allowed in the St. John Cathedral during the stair replacement project and this matter would have to be resolved to comply with original request of June 9, 1995 or delay the project start until the major event has been completed. Mr. Hummel said he would be back in touch with me on the matter.
