Completed review of resubmittals and preparation of plans for processing for issuance of permit. Mechanical sheets reviewed notes on plans - to be reviewed and approved in field by mechanical inspector. As of staff meeting on 02/27/97 we are the City is enforcing the 1991 UBC until the 1997 is adopted and we are not asking for new submittal sheets, just making the architect aware of possible problems and leaving the review and approval to the field inspector.

Call from Steve Hardy, mechanical engineer for the 1249 S Vinnell Way SSA office project. Question concerning the plan review comment on automatic smoke detection shut down of Air-moving equipment when exceeding 2000 CFM to interconected areas. I reviewed this requirement with him based on Sec. 608 1994 UMC and definition in Sec 203. He asked me when we had adopted the 1994 UMC and I explained that the way the ordinance is written the city adopts the latest edition of the UMC. I also told him that we were told this did not mean the 1997 edition that has just come out.

Received fax from Brett Tullis asking for review of proposal on realignment of corridor/ room wall, 146 to make this area a part of the proposed room 147 and not an exit corridor. Also a layout for the exiting from rooms 148, 149 & 150, one into an extension of the existing corridor and one through an adjoining room. I requested further clarification on the exiting from Rooms 148, 149 & 150 based on the requested occupant load factor to be used for these rooms. The widening of the extension of room 147 was approved as requested by architect.
