Call from Mr. Kerr of the Anderson construction co. wanting to know the progress on the permit. I told him I still needed the information as outlined in the plan review done by Jan Welch, stapley Eng. that I faxed a copy of to his firm on 3/16/97. I understood that Mark Elliot has some of the information but has asked for further clarification before he can submit it to the building dept. for approval review.

Called and talked with Mark Elliot. The following items were discussed. 1) - Since there are no interior non-bearing wall framing systems shown or a necessary part of this structural up grade package for IJ07 I will make the statement a part of the building permit that no interior nonbearing wall system are included in the scope of this permit. The requirement for the wall frame system design, gauge, connections, etc. called out as part of the Structural Review by Jan Welch of Stapley Engineering , will be provided for approval as part of package IJ14 for the remaining tenant improvement package. Mark is also going to let me know if the exterior modifications and addition of mechanical pads, equipment and exhaust stacks stacks can be removed as a part of this permit and included as part of IJ14 because it is necessary to have P&Z approval of the exterior modifications & additions. the exterior modification came as part of additional plans that were submitted in response to the structural plan review and not originally shown as part of this project. This would allow issuance of a building permit for this project with the above noted limitations if this is ok with H-P & Mark Elliot.

Tried to review what was needed with Mike Hall of P&Z on the 19th but we couldn't get together because of the busy day. Got with Mike Hall at 8 A.M. on the 20th. He ask that I have the architect call him direct so they can review what is to be done. Made phone call to Mark Elliots office but he was not available. Mark returned phone call concerning his response to the structural plan review. Information needed to provide details & verifications is to be provided from the contractor and the engineer at CH2M HILL, Craig Barrett. I asked if he intended to list the response as a "deferred submittal" under section 106.3.4.2. If he did this would cause a delay at the time of a framing inspection because one could not be done until the plans were submitted and approved by the architect of record and then the plan check div. Mark said that would be fine with him and he would list a response to me requesting this view. This could cause some major problems at framing if corrections were needed. I will call the contractor to see if they will provide plans.

Met with Mark Elliot in town today for separate project. I explained there were some concerns that would need to be addressed before a permit could be issued. Mr. Elliot told me that new plans had been issued for the structural portion toward the first of February. I told him I had not received them. Such changes would need to be routed back to Jan Welch of stapley Engineering for another review. Mark Elliot and I looked at the project package for HP #6 being submitted shortly and saw that the new structural plans were included. Mark said he would send me a new set along with the responses to the first structural plan review. We will continue to handle as a separate permit since it will be faster.
