Phone call to Brett Cato concerning a fire stop assembly that was not noted in his response. I sent him a copy of one since he did not have the 1995 UL Directory, for him to approve and send back. I also noted to him by phone that the fire dept. concerns about spill control and ventilation within the battery storage room. Brett said he had knowledge of ways to accompolish this and would comply if required.

Telephone call  2/10/1997
Late A.M. Call to Brett Cato of Fraley/Stricker Architects to clarify detail on plan for wall construction at the H3 Fuel Tank Storage Room Occupancy in the basement and to let him know I had not received the mechanical plans on Friday, Feb. 7, 1997 as I had been told I would. He was not available at the time of my call but his secretary said she would have him call.
Telephone call  2/10/1997
Brett Cato returned my call. I asked about the wall detail on Sheet A4, which walls the detail applied to represented? Not the rated walls - they would run from floor to deck. The use of the switch room was mechanical with possibly two staff personel. I told him I had not received the mechanical plans and I had not been able to find out who had rejected them and that at this time a mechanical stamp by a licensed Idaho Mech Eng was not required. Brett said he woild follow up on getting the mechanical plans turned in.
Telephone call  2/7/1997
Call to Brett Cato concerning the specific uses of the 4th flor switch gear rooms, what the FM200 Tanks were, information on the battery storage units and the call out on the plans for a 2-hour wall arounf the new room - reason for requirement and how the wll was to be protected at openings and penetrations. Also discussed with Brett that there may be future complications with exiting from the balcony area adjoining the East end of the tenant space depending on the use of the area by his customer or a possible future restaurant. If the restaurant uses all the space then they amy not want his office to have access to the area. If a means to prevent access to the restaurant area is installed in line with the tenants North wall accross the terrace, a n exit will have to be available back through the tenant space and a door will have to have proper hardware per section 1004.3 UBC. Mr. Cato said he understood and would make his client aware of the circumstances.

Plan resubmittals received  2/3/1997
Received fax note from Brett with cut sheet for fuel tank, clarification on location of mechanical equipment in relationship to new vestibule entry from garage to 3rd floor, and a note that the mechanical engineer had applied to Idaho for a temporary license so he could stamp the plans.
Telephone call  2/3/1997
Call to Brett Cato concerning specifications on the fuel tank, location of mechanical equipment in parking garage in relation to the new vestibule access from the third floor to the parking garage, mechanical plans for the project and a note on the plans concerning seismic bracing at 8 feet o.c. - I refered him to UBC Standard 25-2 for review for ceiling bracing. Brett said he would respond ASAP.
