Called Mr Jackson to let him know that a letter had been found in the file for this building that required code compliance upgrade as a condition of the original Micron Permit and that nothing has been done in answer to the letter of September 1994 and issuance of a temporary c.o. to the tenant to allow occupancy. I was not sure we would be able to issue a permit for the work applied for. I would need to visit further with Marlene. Mr. Jackson set up a time to come in and review the problem this afternoon.
Meeting  1/20/1998
A meeting was held with Mr. Jackson regarding a letter on file for this property concerning code compliance upgrade requirements by the building owners as a condition of the original permit issued in 1994. Ther has been no action for on a process or plan to bring the building into compliance with codes. This letter is on file and was sent out to the owners representative by Marlene Southard. I explained to Mr. Jackson after letting him read the letter and giving him a copy for his reference that we needed to have the owner start the process of plan submittal through his architect. Mr.Jackson felt that this problem was the owners and did not concern them as the tenant unless the city was going to take action to deny them occupancy based on failure to obtain a permanent C.O. I discussed this with Marlene Southard and it was determined that since the work was within the original tenant space and the occupancy is of the same nature (Micron affiliated office use) that the permit could be issued for the work but to request that Mr.Jackson have the property manager and owner contact the city building department and I (Dan Stuart) would send a copy of the original letter to the owner & manager with a cover letter explaining to them that there will be no new permits issued for any work or occupancy for this building until a plan of action and time frame to bring building has been presented and accepted by the building & fire departments and the owner.

Meeting  1/13/1998
Roy Jackson brought in floor plan of tenant space occupied by Micron Construction since September 1994 to review request for a permit and to see if a quicker time frame for permit processing was a possibility. Based on the continued occupancy of the same area as originally permited and the fact that the new construction did not involve bearing walls or the corridor it appeared that a desk permit process was possible.
