Call to Riley Mahaffey concerning the engineered details and the size of steel gusset plates. Mr. Mahaffey said the plates would be fabricated based on bolt layout per his engineering to provide the minimum edge and end clearances and all framing components would line up with the existing framing. I told Mr. Mahaffey that a condition of the permit would be that he, as the design engineer would be required to make a field inspection and give written approval of the repair as being in compliance with his repair design under his Idaho license, to the structural inspector as a condition of obtaining a letter of compliance for the project.

Research verified that this facility was listed as existing Revival Deliverance Mission under CU-147-85 and has continued as this use name to this day per the permit application data submitted for permit. I could find no records in the building department files concerning this building or its history as regards building code compliance or occupancy. This permit is for a specific item only - a structural repair to avoid a failure of an existing guirder truss and will not involve any further review or inspection.
